To my special “Akela” who has helped me on my way,
Thank you for the things you did that brought me to this day.
I never would have made it, if I had to go alone.
Cub Scouting is for families – just look how ours has grown!

Now as I stand here on this bridge, ahead of me I see
All of the excitement that Boy Scouting has for me.
Campouts, hikes, advancements – so much to see and do,
Before I cross I’d like to give one last salute to you.

The adventure’s just beginning, so I hope that you’ll cross, too,
‘Cause even though I’m older now, sometimes I still need you.
Come with me into Boy Scouts, so together we can climb
The mountain they call “Eagle”, which will take a little time.

But if you are behind me, helping me to do my best,
I know that everything I try will end up in success.
Now it’s my turn to cross the bridge, I’m taking it in stride
Because I know that you’ll be with me – on the other side.
